Set in the 1930s Germany, "Secret Hitler" pits players against each other in a battle of politics, deception, and strategy. Players are secretly assigned roles as either Liberals or Fascists, with one player also being secretly assigned the role of Hitler. The Liberals aim to enact five Liberal policies or assassinate Hitler, while the Fascists aim to enact six Fascist policies or elect Hitler as Chancellor after three Fascist policies have been enacted.
The game is played over a series of rounds, with players electing a President and Chancellor who will then attempt to pass policies from a deck of Liberal and Fascist policy cards. However, players must also contend with the uncertainty of hidden agendas, as Fascist players work to sow confusion and manipulate the game to their advantage.
"Secret Hitler" is known for its intense gameplay, strategic depth, and engaging theme. It requires players to use deduction, bluffing, and negotiation skills to achieve their objectives while navigating the political landscape of pre-World War II Germany.
Due to its mature themes and complex gameplay, "Secret Hitler" is recommended for older players and those comfortable with social deduction games involving political intrigue and deception. It's a popular choice for game nights and gatherings with friends who enjoy immersive and challenging board game experiences.
