It is typically played with a large group of people and is ideal for gatherings, camps, or social events.
In "Werewolf," players are assigned roles secretly at the beginning of the game. These roles include Villagers, Werewolves, and special roles with unique abilities. The game is divided into two phases: Daytime and Nighttime.
During the Nighttime phase, all players close their eyes, and the moderator instructs the Werewolves to open their eyes and silently agree on a player to eliminate. After the Werewolves have made their choice, the moderator guides the game forward, revealing any special role actions that occur during the Nighttime phase.
During the Daytime phase, all players open their eyes, and the moderator announces which player was eliminated during the Nighttime phase. The remaining players then discuss and deliberate on who they believe the Werewolves are among them. Players can share suspicions, observations, and alibis in an attempt to identify and vote to eliminate suspected Werewolves.
The game continues with alternating Nighttime and Daytime phases until one of the following conditions is met: all Werewolves are eliminated, leaving only Villagers, or the number of Werewolves equals or exceeds the number of Villagers.
"Werewolf" is known for its engaging gameplay, social dynamics, and suspenseful atmosphere. It encourages players to use deduction, persuasion, and deception to achieve their goals, whether they are trying to eliminate Werewolves as Villagers or conceal their identity as Werewolves. With its simple rules and limitless potential for strategic play and memorable moments, "Werewolf" has become a staple of social gaming and remains popular worldwide.
